Well, we have completed our Five Senses theme and have learned so much. We can recognize each sense, which body part is related to each sense, how we use them and why they are important…
Our hard work calls for a little break so off we go into our final week of school before winter recess. This is going to be a LOVELY week as we are also excited for Valentines Day.
Centers for this week will include placing hearts in order by size, heart stenciling, candy heart sorting and using markers and other writing tools to create Valentines cards (We will be signing in with markers on our sign in boards when we return from break so let’s get those motor skills running). We will also turn dramatic play into a post office where we can write and mail our Valentines to our friends. If you have any materials at home that you would like to spare such as cards, stickers, envelopes…. They would be greatly appreciated.
PLEASE SEND IN AN EMPTY SHOEBOX THAT HAS ITS LID INTO CLASS ON MONDAY
We will be creating our very own Valentines mailboxes. If you are creating Valentines for our class with your child at home, we will be placing each one in these boxes as you send them in over the week. We will take our boxes home on Valentines day so we can open our collection of cards and treats FUN!
DATES TO REMEMEBER
Our Valentines day celebration is on Friday February 14th at 1:30pm in our classroom. We will start with a game of Alphabet BINGO followed by treats. You are welcome to bring whatever you wish to our celebration for snack but I do kindly ask that if you are bringing goody bags to please reframe from passing them out until our closing circle time or to place them above each child’s cubby space. This ensures that every child receives a bag and that they do not misplace any of the items in their bag during our party. See you all on Friday and thanks a bunch!
