Dear Parents,

We had a busy week in Pre-K 2 this week. We have continued our theme: Where we Live! This Week was a review week, so we went over previous topics that we already learned. We discussed what types of homes people in NYC live in. They were introduced to the names of our city, state and town. We talked about addresses and their importance, especially in an emergency. We continued our discussion on animal habitats and we talked about habitats in the Artic. In Math, they again played one game where after I put out a certain number of counters I would then add or take away a certain amount of them and the children would have to recognize the new number of counters left and hold up the matching numeral card. They also replayed the board game, which was covered in red and green dots along the game trail. This time they rolled two die and they had to decide which die they were going to use. They had to figure out in their head which number would land them on a green dot instead of a red dot. If they landed on green, they took another turn, but if they landed on red, they had to move back on the board. Here is what is happening coming up:

Please take note that we will be closed Monday, January 21, 2019 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Students are getting in the habit of taking off their jackets and placing them in the big clear bags along with their backpacks. If they have lunch boxes, they can place them in the top part of their cubby. Please have them sign their name and move their name stick before going to wash their hands. Please allow them to do this as we are building independence.
Upcoming, we have our next project based on our next theme which is Transportation. More details will go home about this on Monday, January 7.

Hope you had a great weekend!

See you tomorrow!
