Dear Parents,

We continue to talk about babies.  This week we touched on some baby animals and the differences between the needs of human and animal babies.  Next week we will touch upon what different kind of animal babies are called.  As a family bridging assignment, I would appreciate you helping your child select an animal and make a poster showing what it’s baby name is as well as what we are most familiar with.  For example: An adult is a cat, the baby is a kitten.  The poster should include pictures as well as facts.  Be as creative as you like.  All posters are due no later than Wednesday.

Please be advised that the Fifth’s Disease is circulating in the building.  Symptoms appear as a facial rash that look as if the cheeks were slapped.  Sore throat, slight fever, upset stomach headache fatigue and itching are among symptoms.  Please note: WE DO NOT HAVE A REPORTED CASE IN OUR CLASS.  I am merely alerting you that there have been reported cases within the school.   So please be sure to alert us if your child should become symptomatic and keep them home.

The book fair has been extended until Tuesday.  So if your child hasn’t made a purchase or if you care to allow them to make another there is still time!

The Mets game is on Thursday.  Please remember early childhood students do not travel by bus, you must make your way to the stadium on your own.  If you and your child are not attending the game, we will be here in class as usual.

Finally, we are off next Friday, May 24th and Monday May 27th in recognition of the Memorial Day holiday.

Have a wonderful weekend.
