Dear Parents,

There are not many items for you today, however, these are important so here goes…

  • Thank you to all of you who helped make Spirit Week a great success. Your participation was appreciated. On Friday, as a culmination to the week, all the classes were able to move and enjoy each other’s classroom. There was zumba, music and movement, and making traffic lights using graham crackers, frosting and M&M’s.
  • Next week we begin a new theme on LIGHT. This is our last week of TRANSPORTATION. I had wanted to do a walking trip on Friday but it seems the bitter cold will be on us again, so I’ll wait until it gets a bit warmer. We were planning to visit the subway station to observe how the process of boarding works. Whenever I plan this, I will need a couple of parents. I will let you know.
  • Please review the letters “Tt”, and “Ww” at home. Please also take the time to teach your child how to write their name, if they still are not able to do so.
  • Please be aware that the PKA Program at our school runs from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Barring an emergency, please have your child on-time for school and pick-up. If you need to get to work, you may leave your child in the Kindergarten room at 7:45AM. A teacher will make sure they get to our classroom. We already have one such student. Please note that at the end of the school year, I have to fill out paperwork regarding your child’s absences and lateness. This report will transfer to your child’s next school, including Astoria Lutheran, along with their permanent records. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Have a great rest of the weekend and I’ll see you tomorrow.
